Memory Lane

In memory of our beloved Punkin

Von Schmidt's One N Only Spicegirl (PUNKIN)

June 8-2000-June 6, 2006

Let me start off by saying this is probably one of the hardest things I have ever written in my life. Punkin was more then a companion, a friend, a pet, a dog, she was a part of the family. She was my “little girl.”

Punkin was there for all the important aspects of my life, Graduation, College, and Marriage. Whenever I needed to lean on someone, she was always there. You could look into her eyes and it was like looking into her heart, ready and full of love. If you cannot tell by the pictures below, we had a special bond. She really was my baby and she wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Punkin was MY first show dog. It was such a thrill to be the person who put her first point on her. But none of that was what made Punkin so spectacular. Looking back she was such an extraordinary girl. Her favorite pastimes were playing with her toys, playing basketball with her daddy, Brandon, and curling up in mommy’s lap. The love that she showed is what made her the most wonderful creature.

Every day that I look into your son’s eyes and watch him play I see pieces of you that you have left behind. I feel so blessed to have him in my life. Thank you Punkin for giving him to us. It was as if you knew that we would need him, and we certainly do.

I am so sorry for what happened little girl. The only thing that brings me comfort is that I know you passed away loved, spoiled, and fulfilled. There will never be any other that can replace the paw prints that you left on our hearts.

We miss you terribly; there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about you. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t wish you were still here to fill our lives with the happiness that you so lovingly gave to us daily. We miss you so much little girl. Trying to move on has been so hard. It’s not the same without you here. However, we keep moving on because we know that’s what you would want. Your best buddy, Charity, is with us now. She is doing an excellent job of looking out for your beloved son, Max.

Even that being the case, you will always hold that special place in our hearts and in our lives that will always belong to you. We love you, our “little girl!”
